Since 2004 I have been working as a freelance artist educator with galleries and museums in London and the South East:
- De la Warr Pavilion, Bexhill
- SW1 Gallery, Victoria, London
- Towner, Eastbourne
- British Museum, London
- Hastings Museum and Art Gallery
- Jerwood Gallery, Hastings
I devise workshops and projects to engage audiences with exhibitions, collections and themed events.
Since 2010 I have been working with De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill, as one of their “Interaction Team” of contemporary artists. This entails creating participatory events for the visiting public to respond to the rolling exhibition programme. These events include gallery interactions and talks, interpretive workshops for schools, family sessions and children’s art club. Alongside the gallery interactions, each artist writes a blog documenting the work made and reflecting on processes and responses. Some of the exhibitions I have worked with are:
“The South Is…”
De La Warr Pavilion. Gallery interaction with the “Myth, Manners and Memory” exhibition of photographs of the American South.
